Thanks for signing up for Obsidian Roundup!
I created this Roundup after a couple of people asked for a way to help keep up with everything being created, discovered, and shared in the Obsidian community. I never expected more than 30 or so people to read it, but I've been blown away by how many people it's helped, and how important it's become to so many people.
I want to make sure that I'm doing my best to help the community, so please reply to this email and tell me a little about why you signed up for the Obsidian Roundup and if you're experiencing any pain points you'd like help with.
I'll keep an eye out for relevant resources and try to share them in a future edition.
By the way, if you're enjoying the newsletter, consider signing up for a premium membership! It takes me a lot of time each week to put together, and the mail servers and hosting service do cost money. Financial supporters not only help ensure this newsletter continues to exist, they also receive some amazing member-only benefits.

Hey! š
After the Obsidian community voted me content creator of the year in 2021 ā and going back to teaching when my childrearing leave ended started to look increasingly unbearable ā I started to seriously consider the idea of writing full-time.
The Obsidian community was incredibly supportive, so I wanted a way to say "thank you" to financial supporters. They're the people who make it possible for me to afford childcare for my son, after all. I couldn't be as involved as I am in the community without them.
So now, every third Thursday of the month, I write an exclusive longform article that's meant to offer my perspective on a discussion point or question that comes up a lot in the community. It's stuff like my "hot take" on folders vs. tags, which made it to the front page of HackerNews and was featured in several newsletters.
Anyway, I wanted to make sure you had a chance to see them, so here's a special discount of 20% off annual plans for the 1st year.
Redeem special offer
Here's what comes else with being a financial supporter of the Obsidian Roundup:
- access to the full archive of previous posts and resources
- invitations to members-only live events
- the heartwarming feeling of supporting my behind-the-scenes work to help people and facilitate plugin & guide development.
Even if you choose not to redeem this coupon, I want to thank you for being a part of the community, and remind you: If you've ever got a question you think I can help with, please reach out!
Thank you,
Eleanor
### Score Based
Thank you for reading Obsidian Roundup!
Obsidian is a "mom-and-pop shop" run by two developers who don't have venture capitalist backing, so the neat guides and community events can't happen without users like you and me stepping up and getting involved.
The Obsidian Hub is a great example of a community initiative: the goal is to collect all Obsidian-related resources into one easily searched Obsidian vault. It's got guides, lists of plugins by topic, indexes of content creators, and all sorts of other great things. But the maintainers can always use help with git logistics, content maintenance, resource collection, etc.
If you've ever struggled with something in Obsidian and figured out a way around the problem, it would be amazing if you could share that experience, either by writing a guide or suggesting ways the help documentation could be updated.
You might also consider hosting a community talk on a topic you're passionate about. It doesn't have to be a "how-to" guide, or even closely related to Obsidian, as long as it's the kind of thing the community might be interested in.
Or, well, honestly ā I can't do everything I do for the Obsidian community and also hold down a full-time job and also do all the stuff on the backend myself, so I rely on subscribers like you to help out. Financial supporters help me afford to send my kid to daycare & pay people to fix website issues and other technical problems, which helps make sure I have time to keep track of everything that goes on in our amazing corner of the internet.
