- [I] As an #articleseed/afterword this could be a #storystem/fic about a particularly unusual economy, perhaps related to some of the stuff from [[The Dawn of Everything by David Graeber & David Wengrow]] about people who mostly don't really "trade." I need to #xref this once I'm done reading it.
## Alternatives to Money
Authors and Creators often default to using currently worldbuilding.
alternatives include:
- gift economy
- tribute economy
- barter economy
- commodity-based economy
- "marker" economy (those tool items)
Path of Exile does a good job of getting away from metal currency and it makes trade significantly more complex.
