I've been thinking a lot lately about boarding schools for mages. I don't read many young adult novels, but I'm dimly aware that _Harry Potter_ is part of a long tradition of novels inspired by British boarding schools. One reason authors like writing in a boarding school setting is because it's such a controlled environment; there are a limited number of adults running around, etc.
