Here's an experience I had the other day.
I check my todo list for something I should work on, and think:
Okay, I need to send out a fantasy story and an accompanying article for Wednesday. Let me see what I have that's closest to being ready to publish.
I flip through my folder of completed works, then glance through my indexes and queries until I find something that piques my interest that day.
Then, I think to myself "wait, don't I already have something on a topic that could work well for this?"
But I don't see anything in the metadata — I must have forgotten to write it down. I don't see anything in the backlinks... let me check by searching for what I think I remember calling it.
Nope.
Wait! Let me search for other stories involving this character — aha!
I had renamed the file, but the "deletion" didn't get synced correctly, so the old version of the file still existed, and it used an old name for the character and didn't have any of the new notes and links.
This is why I have to give myself many ways to find things again.
